Shadowstone’s demo is available on Steam, with solo play and online co-op for up to four players. Secret Door’s October 19 announcement points newcomers to a detailed guide covering party setup, combat and the content included in the demo.

What the demo includes

Every party contains two to four heroes, so a solo player controls more than one character. The starting choices are Berserker, Pyromancer, Ranger, Rogue and Witch, with an Assassin available to unlock. The demo includes the first two acts and four unlockable challenges.

Secret Door estimates a run at roughly 45 minutes to two hours. Battles alternate between hero, enemy and ally phases, with environmental effects resolving as rounds end. Taking longer also raises corruption, which adds consequences that last for the rest of the run.

Release and controls

Dreamhaven is publishing the game, and Steam currently lists a 2026 release without a specific date. The current control scheme uses mouse and keyboard. Phone-controlled couch co-op is a future plan, rather than a feature of the demo.
